The build fee is one-time and covers designing, building, and launching the site. The monthly fee covers what happens after launch: hosting, your domain, backups, security updates, routine maintenance, and the content updates included in your plan. You pay the build fee once; the monthly fee runs for as long as we're looking after the site.
What does the buyout price do?
It's how you keep the site permanently. Pay it once and the site is yours outright — we hand over the files and help you move the hosting wherever you want, and the monthly fee ends. It's $299 on Store Front, $399 on Main Street, $549 on Broadway, and 25% of the project price on Beverly Hills. After a buyout we're no longer hosting or maintaining the site, so updates, backups, and security become yours to handle.
What happens if I stop paying the monthly fee?
The site comes down. The monthly fee is what pays for the hosting, backups, and maintenance keeping it online, so if the payments stop and you haven't paid the buyout, we take the site offline. There's no long-term contract and no cancellation fee — but cancelling does mean losing the site. If you want to keep it for good, pay the buyout for your plan and it's yours. Your domain stays registered to you either way.
So I don't own the site while I'm on a monthly plan?
Not outright, no — and we'd rather say that plainly than bury it. While you're on a monthly plan we host and run the site for you, and the buyout is what transfers it to you permanently. Your domain is registered in your name from day one, so that part is yours whatever happens. If owning the site outright matters to you from the start, tell us on the call and we'll price the build that way.
Are the prices on the pricing page the final price?
They're starting prices. The ranges reflect how big and how complicated the site is — a three-page site for a barber shop sits at the bottom of the range, a five-page site with a booking form and a photo gallery sits nearer the top. We confirm the exact figure with you on the call, before any work starts or anything is billed.
Are Shopify, Square, and hosting fees included in the monthly fee?
No. Shopify, Square, WordPress hosting, and plugin fees are billed to you directly by those providers, and they're separate from what you pay us. The same goes for Google Ads: our $250/month covers managing the campaigns, and the ad budget itself is paid to Google.
When do I start paying?
Nothing is billed before the call, where we agree on the plan, the price, and what's being built. Once the scope is agreed we take a 40% deposit of the build fee and start work. The remaining 60% is due at launch, and the monthly fee starts from launch too — you're not paying a monthly fee while the site is still being built.
Why do you take a deposit?
The deposit is 40% of the build fee and it's what puts your build in the schedule. It covers the first stretch of work — the call, the structure, the writing, and the first version of the design — before anything is live. It comes off the total, so a $1,299 build is $520 to start and $779 at launch, not an extra charge on top.
